The special particle size analyzer for plastic materials-EVA-ethylene-vinyl acetate is neither laser particle size analyzer nor sedimentation particle size analyzer. It is a particle size analyzer in sieving method which is called airflow sieve. EVA is the short of ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer in which the vinyl acetate (VA) is generally 5%-40%. Compared with polyethylene, EVA reduces high crystallinity, improves flexibility, impact resistance, packing solubility and thermal sealing performance by introducing vinyl acetate monomer into the molecular chain. It is widely used in the fields of foaming shoe material, functional shed film, packaging film, hot melt adhesive, wire and cable and toys. The feature of EVA resin is good flexibility, rubber elasticity. It can still have good flexibility, good transparency, good surface gloss, good chemical stability, anti-aging and good ozone resistance strength and it is non-toxic. It has good mixing property with filler, good coloring and forming property. EVA resin is used widely. Generally, EVA with ethylene acetate content less than 5% is made into film, wire and cable, LDPE modifier, adhesive, etc. EVA with ethylene acetate content from 5% to 10% is made into elastic film. EVA with ethylene acetate content from 20% to 28% is mainly used in hot melt adhesive and coating products. EVA with ethylene acetate content from 5% to 45% is made into thin film (including agricultural film) and sheet, injection molding, molded parts, foam products, hot melt adhesive, etc. This property determines that only air jet sieve can be used to analyze the particle size accurately.
